MAKES HOME HERE -- Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Koltes and two daughters, who have lived in California the past seven years, have returned to Salem where they expect to buy property and make this their future home. Mrs. Koltes is a a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sol Durbin.

OBITUARY: 
SOLOMON DURBIN PASSES BEYOND.
Pioneer of '45 Died at Salem Home Yesterday at Age of 87 Years. Resident of City for Sixty Years - Traveled by Ox Team From Missouri and Enlisted With Early Indian Fighters.
Solomon Durbin, a pioneer of 1845 and a resident of Salem for sixty years, died yesterday morning at his home, 404 North Church street. He was 87 years old.
With his parents he traveled by ox team in a train of sixty-two wagons from St. Joseph, Missouri to Oregon, living at first in Washington and Yamhill counties for a few months and later settling ten miles north of Salem. Father Lived 102 Years.
There the parents of Mr. Durbin resided for over thirty years, after which they took up their abode in Salem, where the father died at the remarkable old age of 102 years, while his wife reached the age of 91 years.
Mr. Durbin was married to Martha Sophia Elgin March 9, 1854, she having passed away a year ago. Solomon Durbin enlisted for the Cayuse war in 1848, serving against the Indians for about five months as a member of Company C, First Oregon regiment.
Relatives Arrive Today.
He is survived by a son, Charles Durbin, of Vancouver, Wash., and two daughters, Mrs. John Colts of Riverside, Calif., and Mrs. C. M. Walker of Salem. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Durbin of Vancouver and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Durbin of Howell Prairie, Mrs. Colts and daughter Gertrude, will arrive today from California.
Funeral announcements will be made later.

The body of Solomon Durbin, who died Thursday night, will lie in state at the Webb & Clough undertaking parlors until 1 o’clock Friday afternoon. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Congregational church, the Rev. James Elvin conducting. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F, cemetery.
