MRS. DURBIN TO BE BURIED TODAY.
WELL-KNOWN PIONEER WOMAN DIES AFTER FOUR WEEKS ILLNESS.
Mrs. Sol Durbin, one of the best-known pioneer women of this section, died at her home, 404 North Church street, here Sunday, after a four weeks' illness. Her maiden name was Sophia Elgin. She was born at Independence, Mo., July 25, 1839. She came to Oregon with her parents in 1852 and they settled in the Red Hills, eight miles south of Salem. On March 9, 1854, she was married to Sol Durbin, and on March 9 of this year they celebrated the fifty-eighth anniversary of their wedding.
Mrs. Durbin for many years was a member of the Congregational church. Besides her husband she is survived by the following children: Charles Durbin of Antelope, Oregon; Mrs. C. M. Walker of Howell Prairie, and Mrs. John H. Koltes of Riverside, California.
The funeral will be held at the residence at 2 o'clock today, Rev. P. S. Knight officiating. Burial will be at the Odd Fellows' cemetery.

MRS. DURBIN IS LAID AT REST.
FRIENDS FIVE EXPRESSION OF HIGH REGARD FOR WELL-KNOWN WOMAN.
The funeral services of Mrs. Sol Durbin were held at the residence, 404 North Church Street, yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. P. S. Knight delivered the sermon and Mrs. Dr. Carleton Smith rendered two very beautiful vocal selections. The house was filled to overflowing with friends and relatives, while banks of flowers from both Portland and Salem showed the love and high esteem the deceased was held in.
The pallbearers were John G. Wright, A. N. Moores, Jos. Albert, E. M. LaFore, A. N. Bush and Frank Hughes. The interment took place in the Odd Fellows' cemetery.
