OBITUARY: 

GERVAIS--Emil C. Ronner, 79, of Gervais, died Tuesday. He was born in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, and came to the United States in 1914 where he lived in the Salem and Pratum area. 
He served in the Navy during World War II and moved to Gervais in 1946 where he owned and operated Ronner's Market for 22 years. He served on the school board, city council and volunteer fire department. 
Survivors include his wife, Virginia; daughters Susan Brubaker, Mobile, Ala., and Candy Stark, Albany; brother, Robert, Roseville, Calif. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Cornwell mortuary, Woodburn. Private interment will be in the Salem Pioneer Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
