1870 CENSUS -  M. H., female, age 16, b. Oregon, is enumerated with J. W. Lance, age 34, occupation watchman, b. Ohio, and S.S. Lance, age 34, b. Illinois, along with Perry, age 14, b. California, Ora, age 12, b. California, Ruby, age 10, b. Californina, and Frank, age 5, b. California.

OBITUARY: 
At 11 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 1892, at the residence of W. J. Polly, 340 Winter street, Mrs. G. W. Epler aged 38 years, 3 months and 8 days. Mrs. Epler's ailment was cancer of the stomach. She was the wife of G. W. Epler, who formerly conducted the Salem soda works. They came to Salem last March from California.
