OBITUARY: 
FARMER, REV. J. P. Rev. J. P. Farmer Dies at Home in Portland. Rev. J. P. Farmer, who was pastor of the First Baptist church of Salem 15 years ago, died at his home in Portland Wednesday night.  Rev. Mr. Farmer was pastor of the Baptist church in Salem at the time of the construction of the present church building. According to announcement given out last night the body will arrive in Salem at 12:50 o’clock p.m. Saturday, accompanied by his family. The body will be taken immediately to the Odd Fellows cemetery where a short funeral and burial service will be held. Rev. W. C. Kanter, pastor of the Congregational church, will conduct the services at the cemetery.
