DEATH CERTIFICATE: 
OBITUARY: 
FERRELL - At his home in North Salem, Monday, September 23, 1901. George W. Ferrel, aged 89 years, 8 months and 22 days, of dropsy of the heart. Deceased was born at Lexington, Kentucky, January 1, 1812. He moved to Missouri when a young man and when the Mexican war broke out enlisted and served through the whole war. After the war he returned to Missouri and learned the carpenter’s trade, soon after coming to Oregon and settling in Washington county. On June 15, 1853 he was married to Miss Susan Parker who, with six children, survive him. They are; Newton J., George, James, Charles P., and Frank Ferrel, and Mrs. Minnie Villert of The Dalles, Mr. Ferrel moved to Salem in October, 1862 where he has resided ever since. The funeral will be held at the family residence at 2:30 p.m. today, conducted by Rev. R. McKillop. The burial will be in Rural cemetery.
