Kentucky), maiden name of mother Johanna Grooms, interment 21 Jan IOOF, undertaker Peninsula Funeral Home, informant Joann Moore of 8404 Clarendon, Portland.
OBITUARY: 
Funeral services for John R. Fitzhugh, 79, who died Tuesday after a three-weeks illness, will be held Friday at 11 A.M. at the Peninsula funeral parlors. Interment and graveside services will be held at the Salem I.O.O.F. cemetery at 2:30 P.M.
Born in Marysville, MO., September 15, 1864, Mr. Fitzhugh came west in 1888 to work on the Union Pacific's first Oregon railroad. He married Mrs. Minnie Carter Hanger of Dayton, Wash., in 1902. She died in 1926.
Mr. Fitzhugh was active for many years in the ministry of the Methodist church. He was educated at Valparaiso and Willamette universities. He is survived by two daughter, Mrs. Lloyd G. Moore, Portland, and Mrs. Loren R. White, Salem; two sisters, Mrs. Eliza McClelland, Snyder, Okla., Mrs. C. W. Baumgartner, Corbett, and eight grandchildren.
