BIOGRAPHICAL (Source - Karen Geiger-Cornelius):
Ida Mary Cecil-Babcock (not to be confused with her sister Ada May) was born in Millersburg, Mercer Co., Illinois. Afton, Iowa is where her two children were born. Nellie b. 30 July 1880 and Harry Dow b. 11 Oct 1889. Nellie died after the birth of her only child, dau Aline Bhaer [Mrs. George William Geiger - named as the informant on Ida's DC], who was raised by Ida and Charles. Ida's parents are Kinsey Cecil and Sarah E Rainey. Both are buried in Iowa.

OSBH DC (Lane County 1927) #206 - Ida Babcock, female, widow, b. 27 Dec 1858 in Afton, Iowa, d. 22 May 1927 in Eugene, Oregon (Pac. Christian Hosp.) at the age of 68 y's 4 m's 25 d's, name of father "Mr. Cecil" (b. Iowa), maiden name of mother not known by informant, interment IOOF 25 May, undertaker Veatch Funeral Home, informant Mrs. G. [George] W. Geiger of 957 W. 5th Eugene.
OBITUARY: 
BABCOCK--Died at Eugene May 22, Mrs. Ida Babcock, formerly of Salem. Remains will arrive at Salem in care of Terwilliger's funeral home today at 1 o'clock. Graveside services will be held at the IOOF cemetery at 1:30, Elder Jacobs officiating.
