Jan 23 '84 [sic] in Salem, Oregon, d. 29 Dec 1922 in Salem, Oregon (Fairgrounds rd.) at the age of 67 y's 11 m's 6 d's, name of father James Force, interment 1 Jan 1923 IOOF, undertaker Webb & Clough, informant H. S. Folkes of Salem.
DISCREPANCY - DC give her father's name as "James" Force, but she is enumerated in the 1860 census with John Force. James Force is also enumerated in Marion Co in 1860 - but Lillie in not enumerated with him. [John Lord Force and James Vanderbuilt Force were brothers, sons of Obediah and Elizabeth Vanderbuilt Force, who came to Oregon

PARENTS - James Force and Mary B. She died there in 1904. Mary was the mother of (Anna M., Eliza Amy, Elizabeth, Jannette Darling, John M., Lillie, Mary E., and Nettie)

1880 OR CENSUS - Lillie Folks., age 24, b. Oregon, is enumerated with husband Jas. L. Folks, age 54, b. Ohio, occupation saloon keeper, along with daughter May E., age 4, b. Oregon, and son Henry, age 9 m's, b. Oregon.
1900 OR CENSUS - Lillie Folkes, widowed, age 46, occupation laundress, b. Jan 1854 in Oregon, is enumerated with her daughter May, age 14, b. May 1886 in Oregon.  Also enumerated with the family is a lodger, Frank Magers, single, age 43, occupation bartender, b. Oregon.
1920 OR CENSUS - Lillie L. Folkes, widowed, age 65, b. Oregon, is enumerated as the mother-in-law in the home of Simeon R. Lindsey, age 40, occupation horse trainer, b. Oregon, and his wife Mae,, age 32, b. Oregon.

BIOGRAPHICAL - From the History of Oregon by Charles Henry Carey: Part of the Dr. Elijah White wagon train which departed Elm Grove Missouri 16 May 1842 were James Vanderbuilt Force and his brother John L. Force.

OBITUARY: 
Mrs. Lily L. Folkes, 67 years and 11 months old, a resident of Salem all her life, died December 29 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. S. Lindsay, Fairgrounds road. Surviving her besides the daughter a son, Henry S. Folkes, Salem, and two sisters, Mrs. Abbie Fish and Mrs. Nettie Force, both residents of Red Bluff, Cal. Funeral services will be held from the Webb & Clough chapel Monday, Jan. 1st at 10 a.m. with concluding services at the City View [sic] cemetery.
