Germany, and Frank, age 11, b. Michigan. Also enumerated with the family is Dora Fromm, identified as mother [of Joseph], age 78, widowed, b. Germany.
1900 OR CENSUS - Joseph Fromm, age 85, b. Sep 1814 in Prussia, is enumerated with Sophia, age 66, b. Nov 1833 in Prussia, they've been married 47 years, Sophia is the mother of 5 children, 3 of whom are still living.

OBITUARY: 
At the home of his daughter, Mrs. Louisa Machlias, on North Commercial street, Salem, Oregon, April 18, 1904, at 8 o’clock p.m., Joseph Fromm, aged 89 years of senile exhaustion. Deceased, who was an old time resident of this city, leaves a daughter, Mrs. Luisa Machlias, and two sons, C. H. and Frank Fromm, all of Salem, to mourn his death. The funeral services will be held at the Lutheran church, on East State street, tomorrow (Wednesday) at 2 o’clock p.m. conducted by Rev. Adolph Eberle, and the remains will be interred at City View cemetery [sic].
