OBITUARY: 
DIED--In this city, May 8, 1878, at 1 o'clock a.m., Mr. Jay M. Gemmell, aged 23 years. Mr. Gemmell was at the time he was taken sick a student in Willamette University. He was a native of Quasque[n]ton, Iowa, where his mother and brother now reside. Although far away from home and kindred kind friends ministered to his every want and did all in their power to alleviate his suffering. His funeral will take place from the Congregational Church this morning at 9 o'clock.
