OBITUARY: 
Hoppicker Seriously Hurt.
GERVAIS, Or., Sept. 6. –(Special) – A man about 40 years old supposed to be W. Gibney, of Portland, who had been picking hops for Paquette & Hofer came into Gervais last night and after getting several drinks, started to walk to the hopyard. He was struck by an automobile and was taken to the county hospital in Salem. He is suffering from concussion of the brain and his recovery is not expected.
