OBITUARY:
Probably Fatal Accident.
While Mr. Harris, aged about 60 years, was traveling in his wagon from his home at Oak Grove in Polk county to Crowley, on the West side road, he met with an accident which will likely prove fatal to him. By a jerk of the wagon, Mr. Harris was thrown from his seat to the road in the track of the wagon. The wheels of the wagon ran over him lengthwise, horribly crushing his head, and injuring his body. At last accounts he was alive but would live but a short time.

Died From His Injuries.
The unfortunate man, Hugh Harris, who was run over by a wagon on Wednesday morning, has died from the effects of his injuries. Meagre (sic) reports of the circumstances of the accident and death have reached this city. It appears, as stated yesterday, that he had started from his home at Oak Grove, about nine miles northwest of this city, to go to the west side station with a load of produce, and when going down a hill, just after he started, a jerk of the wagon threw him out in front of the wheels. The wheels passed diagonally across his head, crushing his skull and in two hours he expired at his home, whither he had been taken.
Mr. Harris was a well known farmer if that section of the country, and was universally respected. His family has been unfortunate in the matter of accidents. Some years ago a son was shot and killed by the explosion of a shot gun, which he was taking from a wagon, and about two years ago another son fell from the seat of a mower, and was dragged some distance receiving such severe injuries that it was a long time before he completely recovered. The family of Mr. Harris has the sincere sympathy of their friends and neighbors.
