OBITUARY:
John W. Harritt died in this city January 13, aged 83 years; husband of Rachel; father of Mrs. Myrtle Lowrence of Salem and Frank B. Harritt of Eugene; brother of Mrs. Alice Emmett of Portland. Funeral services Thursday, January 15, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of W. T. Rigdon and Son. Rev. D. J. Howe officiating. Interment Odd Fellows cemetery.

HARRITT, 83, DIES AT HOSPITAL HERE
John W. Harritt, 83, 605 Union street, native Oregonian, died at Salem General hospital here last night. He was well-known here. Mr. Harritt was born at Oregon City. On coming to Salem in 1891 he started a grocery business which he operated until 1907 when he retired Surviving him are his widow, Rachel Harritt; daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Lowrence of Salem; son, Frank B., of Eugene; and a sister, Mrs. Alice Emmett of Portland. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. from the chapel of W. T. Rigdon and Son, with Rev. D. J. Howe officiating. Interment will be in the Odd Fellows’ cemetery.
