OBITUARY:
At her home in West Salem, Tuesday, July 11, 1916, at 1 o'clock, Mrs. Catherine Lucinda Hawthorne, aged 54 years.
Mrs. Hawthorne was born in Genesse, Ill. She was married in 1879 in Nevada, Iowa, to James M. Hawthorne. The family came to Oregon from Iowa, ten years ago, settling in Polk county where Mr. Hawthorne has a ranch.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Hawthorn leaves three daughters and three sons. They are Mrs. Mark Siddall, Mrs. Ralph Gilbert and Miss Mildred Hawthorn, all of Salem, and James F. Hawthorne of Filmore, Cal., Ray Hawthorne of Salem, and Sidney Hawthorne, aged 10 years who resided with his parents.
