OBITUARY: EDITH BANTA, 80, PASSES AWAY
in SALEM 45 YEARS
Mrs. Edith Banta, 80, a resident of Salem 45 years and a charter member of the Nazarene church here, passed away at a local hospital Monday.
She was born in England in 1854, coming to the United States 36 years later. Her husband died in 1932. One son, Francis Banta, who had been a member of company M, died in 1922. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. C. R. Moore of Salem; three sisters, Blanche, Annie and Isabelle Thompson of Birmingham, England; three brothers, George E., Charles and Frank Thompson, also of Birmingham; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held under direction of Clough Barrick company Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Nazarene church, 13th and Center streets. Rev. Marvin Jobbe will officiate and interment will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.

Survived by daughter, Mrs. C. R. Moore, Salem; two sisters, Misses Blanche and Annie Thompso, both of Birmingham, England; three brothers, George E., Charles and Frank of Birmingham, England. She leaves also six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held from the Nazarene church, 13th and Center, Thursday, April 25 at 2 p.m., under the direction of Clough-Barrick company, Rev. Marvin Jobe, officiating minister. Interment in the I. O. O. F. cemetery.
