Connecticut) and stepson Ellsworth H. Hiatt, age 11, stepdaughter Mary Y. Hiatt, age 9 (both b. Michigan, daughter Lillie Barber age 7 and daughter Ida Mary age 1 (both b. California).
1900 Census of Marion pct., Marion Co., Oregon shows John D. Barber, farmer, age 52 b. in Michigan (parents b. in New York) with his wife of 29 years, Sarah C. age 50, b. Aug. 1849 in Ohio (father b. New York and mother b. Connecticut) and a daughter Alma Barber, age 16 b. Dec. 1885 in California.
DEATH CERTIFICATE: 
OSBH DC (Marion County 1933) #263 - John D. Barber, male, widowed, b. Illinois, d. 6 Apr 1929 in Salem, Oregon (Oregon State Hospital) at the age of 86 years, usual residence Corvallis, Oregon, interment 8 Apr 1929 IOOF, undertaker Clough-Barrick, informant OSH records.
OBITUARY: 
At a local hospital, April 6, John D. Barber, aged 85 years. Survived by daughters, Mrs. A. L. Oglesbee of Siletz, Mrs. Viola Barrett of San Francisco; son, Ellsworth Hyatt of Battleground, Washington; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral services from the Clough-Barrick chapel Saturday, April 8, at 10 a.m. with the Odd Fellows lodge and Rev. Guy L. Drill officiating. Interment I.O.O.F. cemetery.
