OBITUARY: At the home of her son, Wm. Humburg, on Leslie street, near 24th, in Simpson’s Addition, Salem, Oregon, Thursday, July 11, 1901, at 7 p.m., Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Humburg, aged 71 years and 7 months, of a complication of diseases, after an illness of eight years.
Deceased was born in Germany, where she was married, and resided until 1885. Her husband died in that country, and she came to the United States with her son, Wm. Humburg, coming to this city 16 years ago. She has made her home with her son since that time. About 8 years ago she became ill, and since that time she has not left the house, growing gradually worse until she passed away as indicated above. She leaves, besides her son and his family, a brother, Wm. Butte, of this city, and a large circle of friends to mourn her demise. The funeral will be held from the family home tomorrow, at 10 a.m., Rev. J. Muellhaupt, of the German Reformed church officiating.
