OBITUARY: Thomas O. Hutchinson, whose people were among the first settlers of Monmouth, died in a Salem hospital Tuesday, October 10. He was the father of Roy C. Hutchinson of Lomita, California; L. C. Hutchinson, Marysville, Washington and Milton Hutchinson, Portland. Funeral services were held Friday October 13, in the Clough-Barrick chapel, Rev. Dudley officiationg. Burial was in the IOOF cemetery. Mr. Hutchinson came to Monmouth some 20 years ago in a trailer which he built into a dwelling and lived in for a period of years. It was located on land belonging to the Butler sisters to whom he was related. He after boarded with Mrs. Chris Nelson until owing to age and feeble health he found a home in Salem.
