OBITUARY:
DIED--On Sunday March 26, 1876, at the family residence, ten miles south of this city, Mrs. Margaret Judson, wife of L. B. Judson, Esq. Funeral services will take place at the South Salem M. E. Church at 1 o'clock p.m. today. Members of the Order of Patrons of Husbandry are requested to attend. Friends of the family are invited.
Oregon Statesman 28 March 1876 3:2.

Mrs. Margaret Judson, wife of L. B. Judson, was born in Missouri; emigrated to Oregon in 1852; was married to her now bereaved husband in 1855; died of typhoid fever, March 25, 1876. Sister Judson experienced religion at a campmeeting, held by the United Brethren, eight miles above Corvallis, Benton County, Oregon, in 1859. Soon after her conversion she joined the M. E. Church, of which her husband was a member, where she lived a faithful member until called from labor to reward. She was a devoted wife, a kind and affectionate mother, willing to make any sacrifice in her power for the benefit of her family. Some hours before death she lost the power of speech, and was unable to give any parting words relative to her family or her future prospects; and yet she seemed perfectly resigned to the will of the Lord and we have no doubt but she has entered into that rest eternal in the heavens. She leaves behind a husband and five children who feel that their loss is irreparable and could not be endured but for the sustaining grace of God and the hope of meeting in the heavenly world. Br. Judson and children need our sympathies and prayers. May they make an unbroken family in heaven. N. Clark
