Nova Scotia), occupation physician, is enumerated with his wife of 33 years, Jane, age 52, b. June 1847 in New York (both parents b. New York).

Born In Iowa and Crossed the Plains When a Baby – 
Educated in Oregon City Schools and Graduated from Willamette With High Honor - 
Funeral at 1:30 Today. 
The funeral of Dr. Augustus C. Kinney will be held at 1:30 p. m. Friday from the Baptist church, services to be conducted by Rev. J. R. Comer, pastor, and Rev. W. H. Selleck, pastor of the First M. E. church. Dr. Kinney died at his home in Oakland on Tuesday evening and the body will arrive in this city Friday morning. He will be buried in the I. O. O. F. cemetery, with his brothers and father, all of whom were Salem people. The Kinney’s will be remembered as prominent residents of this city, many years ago, where they were associated in the flouring mills business, and form years owned the big brick mills on North Mill creek. Dr. A. C. Kinney became a noted specialist on tubercular diseases. Born In Iowa. Dr. Augustus C. Kinney, who died at Oakland, Cal., was born at Muscatine, Iowa, in July, 1845. In 1847, with his parents, Robert C. and Eliza B. L. Kinney, he crossed the plains to Oregon, settling in the Chehalem valley, Yamhill county. He attended school at Forest Grove and McMinnville, later entering Willamette university at Salem to pursue the medical and surgical courses, in which he graduated brilliantly. He then went to Bellvue hospital, New York city, for two years, during which time he served on the house staff at the Hospital of Charities and Correction at Blackwell’s Island. Returning to Oregon he practiced his profession in Portland for a few years and then went to Astoria, his home ever since. He married Miss Jane Welch in 1866. She still survives him and was with him at the last moment. He leaves two brothers and three sisters, Dr. Alfred Kinney of Astoria, Marshall J. Kinney of Portland, Mrs. Jane K. Smith, of Astoria, mother of ex-senator John H. Smith, and A. M. Smith, and Mrs. Eliza Peyton of Redlands, Cal.
