MARRIAGE - Mabelle Baker married James F. Hughes in Jackson Co., Oregon on 4 June 1910.
1920 OR CENSUS - Mable [sic] Hughes, age 35, b. South Dakota, is enumerated with husband Frank, age 52, occupation investment co., manager, b. Oregon, along with John, age 6, b. Oregon.

OBITUARY: 
MRS. HUGHES SAID MISSING. 
City and county police are still on the alert for Mrs. Mabell Baker Hughes, 63, who has been reported as missing from her home since early Thursday morning city police reported late last night. As an umbrella and a coat, identified as belonging to Mrs. Hughes, were found Thursday morning on the middle of the Salem-West Salem Willamette river bridge, police searched the river Thursday and alerted all river boats. Police inquiry Thursday revealed that a woman had been taken by a Salem taxicab from the Hughes home to Center and North Commercial streets intersection about 1:52 a.m. The intersection is one block east of the west approach to the bridge. James King, Salem route 1, brought the umbrella and coat to the police station about 2 a.m. Thursday, and stated that he had found them on the bridge.
