Hwy accident - struck by an oil truck.

Nebraska, along with Arthur, age 21, b. Nebraska, Berneatha, age 18, b. Nebraska, and Donnie, age 5, b. Colorado.

OBITUARY: 
JEFFERSON YOUTH KILLED BY TRUCK. 
JEFFERSON, Oct 6 - (Special)- Willard Lake, 16, son of Mr. and Mrs. William E. Lake of Jefferson, was instantly killed about 7 o’clock this morning when a Sunset Oil truck struck him from behind while he was riding on his bicycle. The accident, said to have been due to fog, occurred on the highway across from the high school. Edward Law was driver of the truck. An inquest will be held here Saturday forenoon at 10 o’clock. 
Willard was born in Plymouth, Neb., Nov. 31, 1918, and came with his parents to Jefferson in 1929. He was a junior in the high school here. Besides the parents, he leaves two brothers and three sisters, Donnie and Helen at Home; Arthur of Salinas, Calif., Mrs. Carroll Elrick of Flager, Colo., and Mrs. L. O. Edwards of Corvallis. Funeral services will be held at the American Lutheran church in Salem, probably Monday afternoon with Rev. P. W. Eriksen officiating. Interment will be at the City View (sic) cemetery in Salem.
