VERY LOW - Frank Bachelor, the 13-year old son of James Bachelor, is reported very low with typhoid fever, and but slight hopes are entertained for his recovery. He has suffered terrible for several days and is very weak, so much so that it will be the direct interposition of Providence if he recovers.

On Sunday, January 20, 1889, at the home of his parents on Chemeketa street, Salem, Frank Batchelor, aged 13 years, of typhoid fever. Thus the grim messenger came to the relief of the little sufferer whose fluctuations between life and death were chronicled in these columns last week. The funeral occurred yesterday afternoon, and the bereaved parents have the sympathy of many friends.
