OBITUARY: Patricia Mae Waters Hazelett Jan. 19, 1925 - July 12, 1992 HILLSBORO--Patricia Mae Waters Hazelett, 67, died July 12 in Portland from complications of diabetes. She was born in Salem and was a sixth generation descendant of Tabitha Brown who is the official mother figure of the state of Oregon and founder of Pacific University in Forest Grove. She graduated from St. Helen's Hall, now known as Oregon Episcopal School in Portland, and Willamette University. A member of All Saints' Episcopal Church, she was secretary for the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist from the late 1970's to the mid-1980's. Her interests included genealogy and Oregon history and her many memberships included the Society of St. John the Baptist and New England Women. She married Jackson R. Hazelett in 1947. Survivors include her sons, Stafford, of Hillsboro, Marcus of Aloha and Karsten of Oakland, Calif.; and daughters, Alysa Hilton of Sherwood and Tabitha Hazelett of Portland; brother Donald F. Waters of Salem; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Interment will be in the pioneer section of City View Cemetery, Salem. Arrangements are by Bronleewe-Bass mortuary, Portland. Contributions may be made to the Oregon Episcopal School Pat Hazelett Memorial Fund.
