OBITUARY: 
At his home in Salem, on Sunday, Oct. 14, 1888, at 7 a.m., of typhoid fever, Amzi C. Littell, aged 28 years. The deceased was born near Chatham, New Jersey, November 21, 1860, and came to Oregon in September, 1884. He was married in Salem to Miss Mary G. Fields on July 27, 1887. His parents, Jonathan and Phoebe Littell, are both living in New Jersey. He has a sister living in Elizabeth, N. J., one in Brooklyn, and one in Salem, Mrs. S. A. Starr. Amzi had been sick but about two weeks, and his end is a most sad and untimely one. He was a straightforward, manly young fellow, and his death will be sincerely regretted by all who knew him. He leaves a young wife and child, who will be sincerely sympathized with in their deep calamity. The funeral took place yesterday afternoon from the residence in the university addition, the interment being in Odd Fellows’ cemetery. Rev. M. C. Wise conducted the services.

At his residence in Salem, of typhoid fever, on Saturday night, Oct. 13, 1888, Charles W. Littell. The funeral occurred at 2 p.m. this afternoon from the M. E. church. The deceased was a young man about twenty-six years of age who leaves a wife and young baby to mourn his untimely death.
