OBITUARY: 
At her home in Highland Addition to this city, at 8 a.m. Monday, July 3, 1899, Margaret Lockley aged 24 years 2 months and 20 days, after a several weeks’ illness. 
The funeral services will be held at the First Presbyterian church at 10 o’clock this morning, conducted by Rev. H.A. Ketchum. Burial will be had in City View [sic] cemetery. 
Margaret was born April l3, 1875, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She has lived in Salem for the past ten years. She graduated from the public schools and from the normal department of the Willamette University. She was a teacher in the Salem public schools for some time, sickness causing her resignation from her position as teacher at the North Salem school. 
She was identified with the work of the church, Sunday school and Christian Endeavor society of the Presbyterian church for many years past. Her bright sunny disposition and cheerful ways won her hosts of friends, who will sincerely mourn her death.
