OBITUARY: 
In Salem, Friday, Sept. 14, 1888, at 9:30 a.m., of consumption, Jonathan Lokke aged about 28 years. The deceased came to this city from Eastern Oregon about two months since for medical treatment, and stopped at the place of J. W. Lance, on Court street. Notwithstanding the most assiduous medical attention, he gradually sank, until his demise. He was a native of Holland, and had no relatives in the United States except a brother and sister living in the East. He left money enough to pay his funeral expenses, the arrangements for which have been made by G. E. Epler and Mr. Lance, who attended him during his illness. Funeral at 9 this (Saturday) morning.
