OBITUARY: 
WILLIAM BAXTER DEAD
FUNERAL TO BE HERE 
William Baxter, long a resident of Salem, passed away at Dolph, Tillamook county, Thursday, February 15. Mr. Baxter was born in Ottawa, Canada, February 22, 1833. He came to this city in March, 1869, where he has lived continuously until recently, for a period of twenty-five years. At the time of his death, Mr. Baxter was a member of Protection lodge No. 2, A. G. U. W., having been a charter member of this organization. The body will arrive in Salem today and final arrangements, the funeral which will be conducted by Webb & Clough, will be announced later. Surviving Mr. Baxter are the following sons and daughters: George T. and T. A. Baxter of Dolph, Mrs. Margaret Meador of Dolph, David Baxter of Spray, Or., Mrs. Olive Green of Spray and Mrs. G. L. Frasier of Salem. The death of Mrs. Baxter occurred in April, 1911, and a son, W. E. Baxter, died in Los Angeles in January, 1914.
