Oregon, Jas K., age 14, Frank, age 13, Mary, age 11, Geo W., age 9, Ione J., age 7, Albert G., age 5, Wesley B., age 3, Minnie, age 2, all born in Oregon. Also enumerated with the family is Alice Malone, age 14, b. Oregon (adopted is written in with a line drawn through it).
BIOGRAPHICAL:
MAGERS, WILLIAM B., M.D. Born in Brook County, West Virginia, May 2, 1819; moved to Jefferson Co., Ohio, in 1836, and to Morgan County in 1839. On coming to Oregon he settled at Oregon City; his present residence is on Salt Creek, Polk County; his occupation is physician and surgeon. He married Mary J. Barkhurst in Morgan County, Ohio, November 17, 1846, and their children's names are--John E., Sarah E., William I. (deceased), Charles E., James P., Francis M., Mary V., George W., Ione J., Albert G., Wesley B., Minetta M., and Lemuel E. (deceased). Lang, H.O. HISTORY of WILLAMETTE VALLEY.

OBITUARY: MAGERS--At Stayton, Sunday, Feb. 10, 1889, after an illness of three months. Dr. W. B. Magers. Dr. Magers would have been seventy years of age had he lived until May 7th, next. He emigrated from Ohio to Oregon in 1852, and was born in Virginia in 1819. He has been a resident of the Willamette valley since his arrival in the state. He resided in Oregon City for many years and has made his home at different times in many of the valley cities. [from unidentified newspaper clipping.]
DIED IN STAYTON
Dr. W. B. Magers, who moved from this city to Stayton, and whose illness has been noted in these columns for a month or more, died last Sunday after a struggle for life in which his suffering was great. The deceased was an old resident of this part of Oregon and his death takes another from the list of well-known pioneers. Oregon Statesman 15 February 1889 5:2.
Your correspondent is informed of the demise of Dr. W. B. Magers of Stayton. He was for many years located at the place where he practices his profession. The deceased enjoyed a large circle of friends, who in the family bereavement extend their sincere condolence. - [from unidentified newspaper clipping.]
