1900 OR CENSUS -  Lavina Mann, age 26, mother of 4, occupation cook at Indian school, b. Sep 1873 in California, is enumerated with her husband of 12 years Harry, age 34, occupation rancher, b. Apr 1866 in California, along with Nora, age 11, b. Nov 1888 in Oregon, Hattie, age 9, b. Feb 1891 in Oregon, Rena, age 5, b. Nov 1894 in Oregon, and Edward, age 2, b. Oct 1897 in Oregon.  Harry is identified as white, Lavina and the children are identified as Indian. 
1910 OR CENSUS - Sarah Mann, age 38, mother of 5, b. California, is enumerated [at Salem Indian school] with her husband of 22 years, Harry E. Mann, age 44, occupation blacksmith at Indian school, b. California, along with children Nora L., age 21, occupation sales clerk, b. Oregon, Hattie L., age 19, b. Oregon, Lorena [Rena], age 16, b. Oregon, Edward, age 12, b. Oregon, and Marie, age 6, b. Oregon.  Harry is identified as white, Sarah and the children as Indian.
DISCREPANCY - Birthdate given as Sept 1873 in 1900 census - but year of birth more likely to be 1871 according to 1910 census and age at time of death.

OBITUARY: 

Died. Mann – At her home in Chemawa Monday morning, May 1, 1916, Mrs Lavina Sarah Mann, in her 44th year. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock in the chapel of Webb and Clough, conducted by the Rev R.N. Avison. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows cemetery. Besides the husband, Harry E. Mann, she is survived by two daughters, Miss Nora Mann of Salem, and Miss Marie Mann of Chemawa, and one son, Edward Mann of Chemawa.
