1870 OR CENSUS - William R. Mauzey, age 32, occupation farmer, b. Virginia, is enumerated with William Mauzey, age 61, occupation shoe maker, b. Virginia, and Margaret, age 57, b. Virginia, along with Caroline, age 16, b. Washington Territory, Reason W., age 23, occupation printer, b. Missouri, Edward H., age 21, farm laborer, b. Missouri, and Oliver P., age 19, farm laborer, b. Missouri.

OBITUARY: 
MAUZEY – At the home of his brother, Perry Mauzey, No. 500 High street, Salem, Oregon, at 5 p.m., Thursday, September 27, 1900, Wm. R. Mauzey, aged 62 years.
Mr. Mauzey was born in West Virginia, November 29, 1838, and came across the plains, arriving at Vancouver, in the fall of 1853, and in 1871 he came to Salem, where he has since resided. His health has been failing for several years, and he has been confined to his bed since July.
Deceased leaves four brothers and two sisters; Wallace Mauzey, of Portland; Levi Mauzey, of Marshfield; Edward Mauzey, of Grants Pass; Perry Mauzey, of this city; Mrs. Kitty Gregory of Walla Walla; and Mrs. Maggie Royal, of Montague, Colorado.
The funeral will be held from the residence of Perry Mauzey, at No. 500 High street, Saturday at 2 o’clock p.m. Interment will be in Rural cemetery.
