OBITUARY: 
MAXWELL - At the home of her parents, Hon. and Mrs. Ben Hayden, No. 440 Fifteenth street, at 10:30 p.m., Saturday February 26, 1898, Mrs. I. N. Maxwell, of New Whatcom, Wash., aged 44 years.
Mrs. Maxwell died shortly after giving birth to a son. Her husband, who was in Seattle at the time of her death, reached Salem Sunday evening.
Deceased was the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Hayden, besides whom her husband and an infant son, she leaves three brothers, viz: District Attorney S. L. Hayden, William Hayden, Clell Hayden and Miss Estella Hayden, all of this city.
Funeral services were held from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hayden on Fifteenth street at 2 p.m., today, Rev. W. B. Magnan, of St. Paul's Episcopal church, officiating. Interment was had in the Odd Fellows cemetery.

At the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Hayden, No. 440 Fifteenth street, at 10:30 o'clock p. m., Saturday, February 26, 1898, Mrs. I. N. Maxwell, of New Whatcom, Washington, age 44 years. 
On Friday evening early the deceased lady safely and happily passed the ordeal of accounchement, and her physicians and family were sanguine that she and her little son would thrive apace, but at noon yesterday Mrs. Maxwell was taken suddenly with a convulsion that resulted in total unconsiousness, from which she did not rally. The stricken husband is at present in Seattle, and the sad news was wired him last night. Deceased was the eldest daughter of Hon. and Mrs. Ben Hayden, and a sister of District Attorney S. L. Hayden, Miss Estella Hayden and Clell Hayden.
