At the residence, 205 North 21st street, Saturday, Feb. 15, 1924, James McClelland, 80 years of age, husband of Sarah, and father of James, Jr., and Charles R. McClelland, and Mrs. Catherine Genunder, all of Salem. Deceased was prominent member of Sedgwick post, GAR, and a member of the city council at one time. Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 18 at 2 p.m. from the Rigdon mortuary. Rev. B. E. Kirkpatrick in conjunction with GAR officiating. Veteran’s Funeral.
The members of the GAR, Women’s Relief corps and auxiliary patriotic organizations are asked to meet at Rigdon’s undertaking parlors Monday at 2 o’clock to attend the funeral of Comrade James McClelland. J. J. Newmyer post commander, R. R. Ryan adjutant.

TRIBUTE IS PAID VETERAN BY COUNCIL
Aldermen With Silent Vote Adopt Resolution Honoring James McClelland.
With a silent standing vote the city council of the city of Salem last night adopted a resolution of regret at the death of a former city councilman, James McClelland, who had served for nine years as a member of the council from ward 6. The resolution was presented jointly by Alderman Patton and Rosebraugh, members of the city council from ward 6 at the present time. Mr. Rosebraugh succeeded Mr. McClelland as a member of the council January 1, 1923.
A copy of the resolutions were ordered spread on the minutes of the city council and another copy sent to the family. The funeral of Mr. McClelland was held yesterday.
