"Joe" Fukuda was a brother of Roy K. Fukuda who started the celery farms in Brooks area.  His son Harry Fukuda is also buried in Pioneer - murdered in Portland.  He was the son of the first wife. "Joe's" second wife's name is Kosei.

FUKUDA -- Joe Yozo Fukuda, at the residence, Salem Route 2, Box 373, January 4.  Survived by wife, Mrs. Kosei Fukuda, Salem, and son, Harry K. Fukuda, Chicago, Illinois.  Also surviving a sister in Japan. Announcements of services will be made later by the Clough Barrick Company.

JOE Y. FUKUDA RITES Jan. 12 -- Funeral services for Joe Yozo Fukuda, a Salem resident for the past 40 years, who died at his residence on Route 2, Box 373, Sunday, will be held Monday, Jan. 12, at 7:30 p.m. in the Clough-Barrick Chapel.  Fukuda, who was born in Okayama, Japan, Dec. 25, 1881, operated his own truck garden here until World War II when he retired.  His brother Roy K. Fukuda, who died Nov. 20, 1951, was his partner in the truck garden business for many years.  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Kosie Fukuda, Salem; a son, Harvey [sic] K. Fukuda, Chicago, Ill.; and a sister in Japan.  Final services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 13, at 2 p.m. in the Nichuren Buddhist Church, Portland, with concluding services at Portland Memorial Cemetery.
