OBITUARY:
DEATH TAKE WIFE OF JUDGE M'NARY
Resident of Salem Since Her Girlhood Succumbs.
SALEM, Or., Nov. 21 -(Special)- Esther Hall McNary, wife of Federal Judge John H. McNary and a resident of Salem since childhood, died here early today following an illness of six months. Mrs. McNary had been active in charitable and social organizations and was a member of the Salem Women's club, the Young Women's Christian association and the First Methodist Episcopal church.
Mrs. McNary was born in Portland and was the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Charles H. Hall. Her father was a prominent physician of Portland and Salem for many years and at one time was an instructor in the medical department of Willamette university. Mrs. McNary's mother, Mary Waller Hall, was a daughter of Alvin F. Waller, one of the founders of Willamette university. He was a Methodist minister.
Judge and Mrs. McNary were married in Salem in January, 1894, and have since lived at Summer and Center streets. Mrs. McNary is survived by her widower and two nieces, Mrs. William g. Patterson of San Francisco and Mrs. James D. Robb of Portland.
Funeral services were held from the Rigdon chapel here Friday at 2 P.M., with Reb. Milligan of the First Methodist Episcopal church officiating. Private services were held at the Odd Fellows' cemetery.
