BIOGRAPHICAL:
"After moving from Sublimity, we came in contact with some queer and picturesque people. There was old Minor Meed [sic], the well digger, who could quote Shakespeare by the whole chapter, an inoffensive never-do-well, always on the verge of poverty, ragged and dirty, his children half clad, but he was always happy and in good humor."
