ANGELINE MINCH IS SUMMONED BEYOND.
HAZEL GREEN, July 9 - With the death of Mrs. Angeline Minch Wednesday another pioneer has passed. Mrs. Minch was a daughter of Nelson Ransome Doty, a pioneer of 1844 and a native of New York. Mr. Doty was a lieutenant in the Cayuse war. Her mother Elmira Looney crossed the plains by wagon train in 1849 spending the winter at Sacramento, coming to Oregon in 1850. Mr. and Mrs. Doty took up donation land claim near Jefferson.
Here Mrs. Minch was born and lived until her marriage to Jacob Minch in 1882. Until her husband’s death she lived on a farm in Liberty district and in later years made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Ines Wilson of Salem.
She was of a kind and cheerful disposition doing kind deeds for the needy. Mrs. Minch’s children are Elmer D. Roy and Mrs. Inez Wilson of Salem, Harley of Blodgett, Mrs. Ethel Spillman of Prineville. She leaves also several grandchildren, a brother William Doty of Jefferson, half sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Horn, Pilot Rock and Mrs. Frances Sapingfield, Goldendale, Wash., half brother, James A. Looney, Glendale and many nephews and nieces and friends mourn her passing. She was buried Saturday afternoon in I.O.O.F. cemetery, Salem
