OBITUARY:
Mooney Succumbs To Hurts Incurred in Truck's Crash
George Mooney, 64, 745 Trade st., died at a local hospital Monday of injuried incurred in a truck accident near Lake Labish on March 7.
Mooney was a passenger in the truck with 13 other men enroute to work in a hopyard north of Salem when it went out of control and turned over on highway 99E. Nine others were hospitalized for injuries from the crash.
Hospital authorities made a week-long effort to contact relatives of the dying man, but were unable to locate them until Monday.
Survivors include a son, George Mooney, Yuma, Ariz., and daughters Mrs. Maimie Wood, Wasco., Calif. Another daughter lives near Bakersfield, funeral directors reported.
Services will be announced later by Howell-Edwards company.
