IOOF Register of Burials: Mike Morgan, male, d. by hanging at Pen. and was buried on Jan. 9, 1913 in Lot #735.
Catholic interments: Michael Morgan, b. Minnesota, d. 13 Dec. 1912, executed, age 42, burial in Odd Fellows' cemetery. The 1905 Census listing of inmates in the Penitentiary shows a J. M. Morgan was committed from Multnomah Co.

DISCREPANCY - Apparently his body was never sent to his mother in Illinois because it is listed in the IOOF Register of Burials as being buried here by the county in lot 735.
ALIAS - According to an Oregonian newspaper article Mike Morgan had an alias: ..."In the same cell is Halley Wilkes, alias Mike Morgan, who is held upon a charge of murdering John E. York.

OBITUARY: Hanged Men Buried
The funeral of the three men, Garrison, Roberts, and Faulder, who were hanged Friday was held yesterday at the undertaking parlors of Lehman and Clough. The services which were conducted by Rev. Philip Bauer and Rev. W. G. McLaren, were very simple, consisting of a scripture reading and prayers. Norman Faulder, brother of Noble Faulder, was present. The body of Mike Morgan, which was taken charge of by Father Moore will be sent to Mount Caramel, Illinois, where the mother of the deceased lives.

"...Morgan protested his innocence to the minister who ccompanied him to the death chamber."
"...Morgan, in July 1911, murdered his employer, John Yorke, a Rogue River Rancher."
