OBITUARY: 
Lucy Newman, 85, passed away at a local hospital Thursday, October 24, following several years of failing health. She was a former resident of route one, Independence. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic church and services will be held there Monday morning at 9 o'clock. Recitation of the Rosary will be conducted Sunday night at 8 o'clock. Interment will be at the IOOF cemetery, Terwilliger-Edwards Funeral home in charge.
