OBITUARY: 
At the residence of his parents, corner of Church and Mission streets, Aug. 18, 1893, at 3 a.m., Thomas C. Newton, aged 23 years. Deceased has been ill from consumption for the past three years. The funeral will be held from the house Saturday at 3 p.m., Rev. Lund officiating. Mr. Newton was a plumber and lived nearly all his life in Salem. He was a very popular young man.
