OBITUARY: 

Miss Dorothy Pearce, lifelong resident of Salem and prominent in musical activities, died Monday in a Salem nursing home after a lengthy illness. She was born in the 200 block of Winter Street NE, site of the present First Presbyterian Church Sanctuary. She studied music in the East and was a piano teacher in Salem for many years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and on the board of trustees. She was active since 1930 in Zonta International and Oregon Music Teachers Association. Miss Pearce was associated with many public music events in Salem for many years. Surviving are a sister, Dr Helen Pearce of Salem, and several cousins including Mrs Jennie Pearce Erwin of Salem. Services will be Thursday at 1 pm at First Presbyterian Church under direction of W.T. Rigdon Funeral Home.
