OBITUARY: At Seattle, Washington, Saturday, August 1, 1903, Roy A. Pratt, Jr., aged 24 years, of typhoid fever. Deceased was a son of Dr. and Mrs. R. A. Pratt, of Mehama. About five weeks ago he went to Seattle and very shortly after he contracted typhoid fever, resulting in his death. During the Spanish War he was a member of the Second Oregon Volunteers and served throughout the campaign in the Philippines. The remains arrived in the city on the 11 o'clock train yesterday, and the family came down from Mehama and attended the funeral, which was held at Clough's undertaking parlors yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock, and the burial was made in the Odd Fellows Rural cemetery.
