OBITUARY: 
Herbert S. Prescott, 62, a former newspaper man, died Tuesday morning at the residence, 1690 South Church street. Funeral services at 10:30 o’clock Thursday morning from the Rigdon mortuary, the Rev. N.K. Tully and interment will be in the I. O. O. F. cemetery. 
He is survived by his widow, Alice M; two son, Gerald W. and Ward H., both of Salem; three brothers, Lewellen of Ashland, Albert of Los Angeles, and Justin of Waterloo, Iowa; and one sister, Mrs. Mabel Smith of Los Angeles.

PRESCOTT FUNERAL WILL BE THURSDAY Funeral services for Herbert S. Prescott, who died Tuesday morning at his home at 1690 South Church street, will be held Thursday morning at 10:30 o’clock from the Rigdon mortuary, the Rev. Norman Kendall Tully of the First Presbyterian church officiating. Burial will be in the I. O. O. F. cemetery. Mr. Prescott, for many years employed as a reporter on various Oregon newspapers, is survived by his widow, Alice Prescott, and two sons, Gerald W. Prescott, professor at Willamette university, and Ward H. Prescott, photographer. 
Mr. Prescott was employed on the Capitol Journal here for several years prior to 1919 when he went to the Eugene Guard where he remained for three years. He then returned to Salem and entered the employ of a local furniture store. Mr. Prescott was stricken with illness Saturday.
