W. Miles of Salem, Oregon.
In 1860 the family is living in North Salem and there is an S. Jefferson (female) age 1 shown in the houehold who is probably Susan Elvira Jefferson.
1880 OR CENSUS - Susan Jefferson, age 21, b. Oregon, is enumerated with father Delos Jefferson, age 56, farmer, b. New York, and Matilida, age 50, b. Tennessee, along with Harriett, age 24, John, age 17, Edward, age 14 and Anna, age 12, all born in Oregon. Also enumerated with the family is a nephew of Delos, Ralph Holmes, age 9, b. Oregon.

BIOGRAPHICAL:
The JEFFERSON genealogy by Willard Espy mentions that Susan Elvira was b. December 29, 1858 and married first to Thomas D. Russell on April 5, 1888. He died October 17, 1890 and she married second to George W. Prosser, who was b. December 20, 1847. They lived in Oswego, Oregon.

OBITUARY:
PROSSER -- Susie E. Prosser, late resident of 550 North Summer street, at a local hospital November 10 at the age of 83. Survived by two daughters, Mrs. W. W. Miles of Salem, and Mrs. Sylver Dane of Los Angeles; one sister, Mrs. Hattie Lacy of Salem; one brother, John Jefferson of Oswego, Oregon; two grandchildren, Robert G. Herr and Frank P. Dane, both of San Diego, Calif. Services will be held from the Clough-Barrick chapel Friday, November 12, at 10 a.m., with interment in IOOF cemetery.
