Harry Ralph, former proprietor of a lunch and card room just north of the Elsinore theater on South High street, was stricken suddenly from heart failure Monday afternoon, as he sat down to play cards in the establishment he formerly owned. He had retired from business from ill health the middle of December, but had stated just a few minutes before his death that he was feeling better than at any time since he had been ill. Although physicians were called immediately, Ralph died in a few minutes. Ralph, who was 49 years old, had owned several pool halls and card rooms about Salem. He was a member of the Elks. Besides his widow he leaves a daughter, Helen. Funeral services will be held from the Clough-Taylor chapel Wednesday at 2 o’clock, with Rev. W. Earl Cochran officiating. Interment will be in the Odd Fellows cemetery.
