GRAVEMARKERS BEARING STONECUTTER’S IDENTIFICATION
Tall straight-topped marble headstone of Felix L. Raymond (1809-1862), tavern keeper and farmer, whose widow Margaret died three years later at residence “near Salem” and was interred in same plot along with the couple’s several adult children. Example of the finest local carving of the early 1860s, including the Weeping Willow motif in sunken relief. Space 3 NW from the NW corner. On west, epitaph face of the die, lower right, is the carver’s mark: “P. Miller/ Albany.”
