OBITUARY:
At their home, No. 144 Union Street, Salem, Saturday, Nov. 13, 1897, Freddie, son of Bert and Nettie Rhodes, aged 2 years, 8 months and 4 days.
The deceased was their only child and a very bright little fellow, and had just arrived at the age when he was a source of joy and infinite pleasure to his parents. He was out riding with his papa Thursday, but that afternoon was taken down with a severe cold, which turned into pneumonia, and that fell disease soon did its deadly work, the young spirit taking its flight yesterday afternoon, leaving a very lonely home for the father and mother, the latter especially being prostrated in grief. The funeral will be held today at the residence at 2:30 o’clock p.m. Mrs. Rhodes is a daughter of J. F. Goode, the auctioneer.
