OBITUARY: 
SALEM MAN BURNED IN A FOREST FIRE
PHILIP RICHMOND, EMPLOYE OF HOOVER LUMBER COMPANY, MEETS DEATH WITH TWO FELLOW WORKMEN WHILE TRYING TO SAVE SOME TOOLS
Albany, Ore., July 21 - Seventy men are fighting a forest fire along the North Santiam river, at the terminus of the Corvallis & Eastern railway, that as [has] taken a toll of three lives already. The fire is reported to be beyond control, and the rain is the only hope of the fire fighters.
Undertakers left Albany today for the scene of the fire to bring back the bodies of three men who were burned to death Tuesday.
The dead men are:
Philip Richmond, of Salem, Oregon.
Jay M. Brooks, of Crawfordville, Oregon
Frank McGoey, of Clearfield, Pennsylvania.
All were employes of the Hoover Lumber company.
The time which was destroyed was on the government reserve and on property owned by the Hoover company.
